About the Owner

I grew up in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, surrounded by nature and animals from a young age. That connection shaped my path and led me to dedicate my life to working with dogs. For nearly ten years, I’ve been deeply involved in every aspect of canine care and support—from community outreach and program development to hands-on training and rescue efforts across Western North Carolina.


My experience has given me a deep understanding of the challenges dogs and their humans face, and a strong belief that successful training starts with empathy, trust, and clear communication. I’ve worked with dogs of all backgrounds, temperaments, and needs, and I know there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. That’s why I focus on relationship-based training that builds real, lasting change.


Helping people understand their dogs—and helping dogs feel understood—is what drives me every day. In 2019, I followed my passion and opened The Canine Nexus out of a deep passion for my work with dogs and a commitment to offering something more meaningful in the world of training. I wanted to create a space where training isn’t just about obedience—it’s about building real, lasting change.
