ABOUT THE TRAINER

For nearly ten years, I have worked across dog training, animal rescue, shelter operations, community outreach, and program development throughout Western North Carolina. My experience includes hands-on training, behavior support, the daily operations and management of sheltering programs, staff development, and helping build systems that improve both animal care and opperational effectiveness.

Growing up in the Blue Ridge Mountains shaped how I understand dogs: as individuals influenced by genetics, environment, relationships, history, and daily life. That perspective guides a whole-dog approach to training, one that looks beyond isolated behaviors to develop clearer communication, greater stability, and practical skills that hold up in the real world. My education has also included mentorship and continuing education alongside highly respected trainers and professionals within the field.

In 2019, I opened The Canine Nexus to help people see their dogs differently and help dogs feel truly supported. The goal was to create programs that help owners understand the dog in front of them, address behavior at a deeper level, and build meaningful, lasting change for both ends of the leash.

I’ve worked with dogs of all backgrounds, temperaments, and needs. There is no one-size-fits-all approach.

Helping people understand their dogs and helping dogs feel understood, is what drives me every day.

Training should mean more than obedience. It should create lasting transformation—for both ends of the leash.
